Spain's top flamenco artists come together for a spectacular celebration of Andalusian music, song and dance in aid of Save the Children at the Royal Albert Hall on Wednesday 14 September.
The night features the award-winning gypsy singer Diego El Cigala with special guests, pianist Dorantes, singers Cantores de Hispalis, guitarists Juan Carmona and Marcus Nand, and dancers Joaquin Grilo and Alma Flamenco Dance Company featuring Ramon Ruiz.
Joaquin Grilo

One of the leading dancer/choreographers in flamenco today, Joaquin Grilo combines dance, music and lyrical poetry in a pure and unconcessionary form, maintaining the original rhythms of flamenco in a stunning example of apassionate and exhilarating performance.
Diego El Cigala

Diego's unique vocal timbre has a special brilliance and emanates from the depths of an untamed soul. He is however, much more than a simple heir to the camaronero style of Cante. He has dipped into de fonts of archaic flamenco wisdom and delved into its sources and origins to offer his own heart-wrenching interpretations of flamenco's inherent message, a phenomenon capable of transcending the barriers of time. Dorantes

"When I listen to flamenco I don't just perceive music, I remember events and emotions. It is from these foundations that I start when I build my music". Dorantes has inherited the gift of flamenco from his both sides of his family. He is the grandson of La Perrata (sister of the great cantaor Perrate de Utrera), son of the flamenco guitarist Pedro Peña and nephew of El Lebrijano and Inés Bacán. Apart from belonging to this quitessentially flamenco caste, he completed his musical education in the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música in Seville .
It cannot be said that the music composed by Dorantes is exclusively flamenco. Flamenco is always the foundation for his creations, but at the same time he offers an interesting range of sounds and melodies in which it is possible to perceive the cadences drawn from musical genres including classical, Celtic, Brazilian, Galician, Asturian, Bulgarian, and jazz music... and in which he brings in other instruments that are not typically related to flamenco, such as the viola, violin or the cello.
Juan Carmona

Juan Carmona was barely 10 when his father gave him his first guitar. His virtuosity became quickly apparent and it was only a matter of time before he began gathering international acclaim. Today Juan Carmona has proven to be one of the most creative guitarists of the new flamenco generation. As a performer he has a surprising, moving quality. Somewhere between profound awareness of musical genres, traditional styles and a devastating modernity, Carmona stands as an innovator.
Marcus Nand
Born in England , the son of an English mother and Indian father from the Fiji Islands , Marcus has inherited his musical inclinations from his family.
As a teenager in southern Spain , he began to play flamenco guitar with the gypsies of Andalucia - a privilege reserved for few outsiders.
Marcus has made his mark by collaborating with some of the most famous music stars of today such as Jennifer Lopez, Steve Stevens, Motorhead, Dee Harvey to name a few.
He infuses fresh life into a rich, age-old tradition by combining rock music with flamenco to create his own form through his fresh and elegant interpretations of the traditions.
Alma Flamenco Dance Company with Ramon Ruiz

The core of " Alma " consists of some of the most exciting artists to emerge from Spain in recent years: Felipe de Algeciras, Carmela Romero and Ana García ( Dan cers), Tito Heredia and Ramón (guitarists), Jasmine Villalobos and La Leo (singers). United by their love of flamenco, Alma combines the traditional roots of the flamenco with a selection of contemporary ingredients to produce an electrifying performance filled with passion and lightening-quick foot work set to Ramon Ruiz's rich guitar compositions.
All profits from the show will be donated to Save the Children.
